Possible topics:

How different they are directed by the directors (Mak Siu Fai, Martin Scorsese)
  • Repetitive Story lines of Hong Kong TV series (TVB)
Looking at several HK-made TV series and identifying the similarities in the storyline
  • Similarities & Differences of Superhero Portrayal
Superman, Batman, Spiderman
  • Action Movies made by Hollywood and the HK media industry
Rush Hour, New Police Story

Some interesting ideas. Have you narrowed it down?

I like the Infernal Affairs vs Departed idea - it's generally popular: someone does it every year

Super-heros is good. What might you link it to? What characters from Chinese/HK cinema could you bring in? A comparison of US superhero movies with HK kung fu epics perhaps. That way you are looking at films from two cultures which adapt characters from another medium to the screen. A bit similar to your Batman EE though.

Your last action movie idea is a bit vague though.
